Utah to Become the First State in 2024 to Ban Transgender People From Using Bathrooms

Utah will become the third state to restrict trans persons from using bathrooms in buildings other than schools, alongside Florida and North Dakota. However, the legislation in Utah is of a different caliber as North Dakota’s bill only applies to correctional facilities and dorms and Florida’s legislation only applies to government-owned buildings.

In accordance with the bill, trans individuals could also be charged with voyeurism and/or criminal trespass if they use publicly owned bathrooms that align with their gender. According to Utah’s law, these class B Misdemeanors are punishable with up to six months in jail and a fine starting at $1,000 if charged and convicted.

the law has already passed, as of last week. I can’t emphasize enough how scary this is for the trans community here. please keep an eye out for any trans people you may know in the state, and consider avoiding utah if you’re trans. this is beyond horrible for us here

“Ya Tall’een Al Jabal ” - “يا طالعين الجبل” , a song from the Palestinian heritage was sung by Palestinian women in coded language to their imprisoned husbands and relatives in British prisons during the 1936 revolution to tell them resistance fighters would soon free them, while disguising words with the letter “L.”. While “Panadera” in the Spanish language means baker, it is a traditional Spanish song that women sang during the baking process. The movement of the hands in rhythm represents the baking process.

Unironically I think we need just a more powerful DS again. Dual screens fuck. The amount of creativity and interactivity and cool UI that went into DS games is literally unmatched and like those things were tough as fuck too. Please hear my wish. I get that the switch is technically handheld and thus portable but also no it is not that thang is so delicate and lacks the sophistication of just being able to shut it at a moments notice to pause everything without having to hit a pause menu. This is an incredibly simple example—there are agroforestry systems practiced by indigenous people in various parts of the world that incorporate 5-20 different crops.

The “Three Sisters” (Corn, beans, and squash) are another example of a polyculture system

But you gotta think bigger than simply combining crops—a lot of problems in USA food production system are because we just don’t eat a lot of the edible plants that naturally grow as “weeds” in our agricultural environment
